Stopping your puppy from having accidents in the house is the most crucial thing you can do to assure rapid housetraining success. The first few days you take your puppy home are very critical.
If you enable your puppy to defecate on the carpet or other inappropriate areas, he will often desire to return to this optimal spot. If your puppy does release in an inappropriate portion of your home, it is very important to immediately sanitize the spot with an odor eliminating product that you can purchase at any pet store. This will help make sure your puppy isn't attracted back to the area when it smells the odor of urine or feces.
The training technique that achieves rapid results is one that implements the doggy crate. I have a preference for the plastic crates because they are easy to clean, lightweight, mobile and very durable. Some dog owners prefer metal cages, play-pens, a small bathroom or even a cardboard box for very small breeds.
