How to clean pet urine

You will need to find a good Pet urine odor cleaner to help you clean the pet urine and remove the smell.  Many pet urine cleaners available today can help you to mask the stain and odor, but will not really clean the mess.  If you really want to clean pet urine that's imbedded in your carpet, then you will need tools.  A cleaner that is guaranteed to work is required.

Before using most solutions, complete the following steps:

1. Soak up as much of the urine as possible using paper towels

2. You can stand on the paper towels to soak deep into the carpet

When you have your cleaner solution, you will need to take the following steps:

1. Find the source of the urine odor by using a black light.  (Not everyone will have one of these lying around, but you may want to ask your neighbors.)

2. Determine the extent of the contamination to your carpet

3. Spread a quality pet odor remover over the area. (Be sure to read the label regarding how to clean pet urine)

4. If the urine has stained the sub floor, you will need to inject these areas with the cleaner directly

5. Give the product some time to work (most products will remove the odor within several hours)

Many pet stores and veterinarians carry effective urine odor neutralizers and cleaners to help you.  If you have puppies, then you will have at least a few accidents during the housebreaking stage. These urine stains need to be thoroughly cleaned up so that the puppy does not return to the same odor spot in the future.
